Eye Lounge at Modified Arts presents Departures, a group exhibition exploring the many dimensions of movement, transition, and transformation. To depart is to move away—from a place, a moment, or a version of ourselves. It is both an act of leaving and an encounter with uncertainty.
The artist members of Eye Lounge examine these spaces in‑between: the distances between intimacy and separation, presence and memory, the known and the not‑yet‑known. Across media and approach, each artist traces a form of migration—of body, thought, or material. Some works mark the gradual dissolution of what once provided stability, while others embody the curiosity and tension that accompany entering the unfamiliar.
In a time defined by shifting ecologies, relationships, and identities, Departures considers transformation as both necessity and opportunity. The exhibition invites viewers to reflect on the thresholds that define experience—to linger at moments of release and to contemplate how acts of departure might also open paths toward renewal.
