Five15Arts is proud to present Cackle, Wail, Shake!, a debut solo exhibition by Marisa Skelpsa-Muñoz, opening Friday, June 5, from 6–9pm. The exhibition features paintings aiming to soften the numbing and isolating effects of social media, AI, deepening fascism, late stage capitalism, and the lie of perfection.
In Cackle, Wail, Shake! Marisa Skelpsa-Muñoz shares works born from her exploration of divesting from internalized systems of oppression and remembering the power available to us through movement and interconnectivity.
Marisa grows these paintings through contemplation on the fleshiness of pleasure, the innate erotic intelligence of life, and the breaking apart of ancestral shame. She stays dedicated to a wild color palette that celebrates the chaotic and the sensual while existing as big, resounding, joyful laughter in the face of western chromophobia.
This work is a love letter to you, as you are, and an invitation to move and be moved.
The exhibition will be on view at Five15Arts, 1301 NW Grand Ave., Phoenix, AZ, from June 5-28, 2026. The opening reception takes place Friday, June 5, from 6–9pm. Visit Fridays from 6-9pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 11-2pm.
