Faces and Places - Spencer Mahaffey Lightfoot and Nolan Lightfoot

Spencer Mahaffey Lightfoot and Nolan Lightfoot present Faces and Places, offering a dialogue between the personal and the universal, inviting us to explore the beauty in both our inner and outer worlds.

For Spencer, painting is a form of meditation. The portraits in this exhibition focus on close-up faces. Spencer is inspired by the individuality of each person, the subtle shifts in expression, mood, and personality that make every face distinct. “The longer I spend painting these faces, the more I notice the quiet similarities that connect us. Each portrait becomes both a study of one person and a reminder of the threads that run through all of us.”

Nolan spent his life surrounded by the landscapes of the American West, particularly the connected environments of Colorado and Arizona. His abstract paintings depict long stretches of highway, shifting skies, changing elevations, and the subtle transitions in color, light, and terrain. “I find constant inspiration in its quiet, fleeting moments. The rumble of distant clouds, sunlight catching the spine of a cactus, or a row of ravens scattered along a weathered fence line all carry a quiet significance.”

Spencer and Nolan have exhibited work in galleries in Colorado and Arizona.
