Celebrate the sounds of Indigenous creativity at the Heard during Make Music Phoenix on June 21, 2026! This free, all-ages event brings live music and storytelling to the museum campus throughout the day.
🎶 At 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., Ryon Polequaptewa (Hopi), lead singer of the Thunder Boy Singers, shares presentations of flute, drum, and song rooted in tradition and personal expression.
🎵 At 2:30 p.m., Darryl Tonemah (Kiowa/Comanche/Tuscarora) takes the stage with an acoustic set blending rock energy, folk storytelling, and country soul into his signature “Native Americana” sound. Enjoy live renditions of fan favorites like Pow Wow Snag, Rezzylicious, and The Missouri—even more electric in person.
Make a day of it—bring the family to explore Molly of Denali: An Alaskan Adventure, and cool off with a refreshing Prickly Pear Lemonade from the Cantina.
Come for the music, stay for the stories, and join in on the citywide celebration of music and community at the Heard.
