Residual | Senior BFA Exhibition
April 6 – 9 | Gallery 100
Opening reception | April 7 | 5 – 7 p.m.
Gallery 100 is pleased to present “Residual”, a BFA exhibition of painting, drawing, photography, textiles, and video performance works. “Residual,” a word for something left behind, connects these different mediums by exploring the stickiness of human connection and memory, alongside the innate connection we have to the earth. These artists examine grief, nostalgia, beauty, and healing in a way that is quietly confrontational by addressing the viewer through personal experiences. Drawing inspiration from the nearby landscapes of the Southwest, observations of the natural world, and interpersonal relationships, these artists explore what it means to be human and the residue they leave behind. Through this multimedia work, “Residual” expands on an in-depth view of humanity, nature, and the intertwining of a world that connects us all, reminding us to take notice of the things we leave behind. Exhibiting artists include Camryn Campbell, Claire Gramling, Rori Hodge, Kayde Johnson, Megan Keen, Sarah Medina, Shianne Michels, Alexis Pearson, Nguyen Truong, and Luna Wilkes.
