A thick, sticky atmosphere settles over Grant Street, spilling from Northlight Gallery into the night air, scented with blue raspberry, green apple, and cherry cola. Inside, a tinny MIDI track hums beneath a chorus of voices. Fragments of downtown Phoenix gather in the room, suspended in a self-contained world that moves by its own rules.
